Call Me Crazy…

Okay, call me crazy, but I need a project.  Seriously!  I should have gone into architecture or construction because I like building things… that is, I like managing building things.  Anyway, we have thought for a long time about building a “barn / workshop” so that we can relocate our “stuff” and have a place...

A studio I ran across here in my little town was two shipping containers with a space in between. The space in between was built out and used as her art studio. The light was great as she had french doors at either end as well as doors into the containers for other stuff. Clear as mud?

I would love that myself! Really, you’re right, it would be ideal, to be able to walk out the door to work on art, or other projects, then be able to leave it and come back home. My son mentioned that the other day, as my husband was trying to make his garage workshop usable..and I have no room to lay out big quilting projects. You are lucky if you have the room for it: good luck on your plans, I am jealous!

Hi Robin,
Its been weeks since I visited your site. I had forgotten what simple joy I get from your photos. But gosh, opening to the photo of the yellow tones with Bernina foot…..make my heart simmer on low….put my blood pressure on slow …..it is just so simple and beautiful all at once. Okay, now I am the corny one…but colors and Bernina feet get me excited and calm at the same time.

And now the new site. Yes, great barn idea. I hope a place for future classes? C’mon…a good write off if you call it a teaching barn.

I’m working on the “Rainforest” quilt for a school fundraiser.  I’m having fun inserting leaves and clouds with the quilting.

Can’t wait to see the finished quilt! I am helping a 5th grade class with a fund raising quilt – but had no input in its design. I’m just helping in the classroom as they hand piece it.

A Gentle Pause…

Now that we’re back, and before my feet hit the pavement, I’ve decided to spend a little time reflecting on this trip of ours.  Certainly it was special to be with family and friends… and giving the kids new memories of places they’ve never been was a bonus, but for me the time spent away...

Postcard Moment #3

We are all having a blast playing in the snow!  I’m coming to terms with the fact that my kids are showing me up on the ski slopes this year!  The views are awesome… takes my breath away.  Sometimes I feel compelled to simply lie down and make snow angles.  Enjoy!

I received a blog award this week, and after much consideration decided to accept it, along with the request to pass it along to 12 other bloggers who “inspire others with positivity and creativity.” You are on my list. Congratulations! Your Sunshine Award is waiting for you on my blog. Thank you for brightening my days. http://faithquilter.blogspot.com
