Piecing together the thoughts

I rarely talk about my work here… I’m a nurse and with rules regarding patient confidentiality, writing about my experiences can be tricky.  I usually opt not to take my chances and keep quiet about my experiences… but not today.  For one last time I’ll share with you some tidbits with the hope that these...

What a deep lady you are. I am a nurse too, and I made the decision to stay home with my children as well. For now this is my season of life to be a mother. There will always be people who need nursing and when you are ready to go back they will be there. I think you are so very very brilliant. Your quilting, dyeing and your writing are all so very stunning.

Robin I have to say a great big thank you for sharing these three stories. You touched my heart and soul with your words. Life is so short and goes by so quick, you have to grab all you can get each and every moment and not let go.
I am sending you best wishes on this next part of your journey, may you have smooth sailing ahead.
Your children are very lucky and will love having you around more. I know how lucky I was to have a mother that didn’t work outside the home and was always there when we needed her. What a gift you have been given and what a gift your children will look back on, and thank you for.

Not to mention, but take time for yourself, which refreshes and allows you to be and do more for others.
Love you Robin,
Mel

You are quite impressive! First your art is beautiful and so inspiring and now to learn you were a nurse on top of an artist and a mother it truly makes me feel like the worlds biggest underacheiver! I have unfortunately spent a fair amount of time in ERs and ICUs in the past few years and each time I have been in awe of the nurses skill in dealing with such sad and tramatic situations but maintaining that personal/human connection with their patients and their family. I wish you the best!

Wow, that last paragraph is words to LIVE by.

You’ve mentioned before that you struggle with balancing family, work, and your art. I am sure you have made the right decision and wish you all the best as you continue to move forward. :-)

A very tough decision indeed, but thecrewards of creativity and hanging out with the kids…I couldn’t imagine anything greater than that!!!

It will be very exciting to get to observe your creative directions. And it is oh so true that children grow up way too fast and fly the nest before you know it. Knowing your children as adults though, is one of life’s great gifts. Enjoy the journey.

Women and Art

I’m thrilled that Alex contacted me!  She is the owner of Yogagurl, a company which she started out of a desire to inspire herself and others, and now supports a line of yoga wear as well as other things to help women become empowered.  She’s the one I met the other day at my garage...

Someone is going to be blessed by winning a beautiful quilt! Intrigued with and looking forward to seeing “Who Does She Think She Is?”

Gayle KushApril 18, 2010 - 11:22 am

That’s a good sized quilt! I love these kinds of quilts. Too bad you can’t raffle it because you really do get more money that way as well as everyone having a chance at owning it. We have pretty strict rules here in Michigan too.

The Maiden Voyage

The other day I took Adam up the mountain to fly his glider.  It was amazingly beautiful to watch… so graceful and smooth.  He has been working hard on a power-point presentation and will speak about his plane in front of an audience tomorrow.  If only they can see it in action… for now, thankfully...

Raindrops

Despite the rain outside being absolutely dreadful for dyeing fabric, I still find it in my heart to be grateful.  With this rain will come beautiful spring days, I just know it!  Outside in my yard today, I have many photo-ops to choose from!
