The Process Part 5: Quilting again…

Just a simple shot from the studio… of the quilting in progress.  Not a fancy design in any way, but fitting for the quilt and it’s intended use. I’m hearing whispers here and there about people working on their entries for various shows.  Wishing all of you well and luck!  This isn’t my year for...

I’m with you Robin!!

That’s so Mod

I finished my second assignment for the Mid Mod Quilting Bee!  This time it’s Jess’ turn.  As you can tell, I ran out of fabric at the end.  It’s an easy fix on her end.  Hope she likes it!

Can I admit I’m jealous of your green? I got beige.

it looks great! Love the green.

very nice!

Sunday Morning

Sunday morning around here often involves heart-shaped waffles and strawberries.  It’s a favored ritual.   I’m treating myself to a little gazing at images from Rex Ray (especially the wood panel stuff), Baratta Design, and this one by Andreas Gursky.  Getting inspired to start something new this week! *** For those of you who are...

Those waffles look delicious!
I discovered Rex Ray earlier this year. He’s great!

The Process – Part 4

I’ve finished piecing together the individual blocks of the quilt.  When you look at the final product, you will see that I didn’t cut each block the same size and piece together in a rigid grid format.  Instead, I sewed one block to the next utilizing a curved piecing method.  Each seam was different and...

Brilliant! I knew that you were gonna blow we away once again.

I knew that you would continue to blow me away. Brilliant design.

gerrieAugust 21, 2010 - 1:26 pm

I love the playfulness of these blocks.

The Process – Part 3

I’m enjoying these last few days of summer.  With just my daughter around now, things are quieting down.  The boys are off in their new classrooms.  I’m thrilled to see them happy to return to school.  Meanwhile, the piecing goes quickly when you have a ten-year-old helping out!  This type of work is pretty fool-proof;...

The excitement is building. Can’t wait to see the gran finale. I know it will be gorgeous.

I was considering Project Modern too. I’m not sure if I’d be considered a “modern” quilter, or if I could actually make teh bed quilt I have in my mind in time to be in teh drawing, but I’m intrigued nonetheless. I may join you. Regardless, I like your skinny likes around the rainbow boxes. My default is to go to the plain red, but the polka dot one looks darn good too.

One thing I noticed is that after I click ” post comment”, the next page that comes up has all the print on the page. I still don’t know what the problem is.

Marjorie JohnsonAugust 20, 2010 - 3:14 pm

Back to the same problem of the print being chopped off. Don’t know why my computer does this only on your page. Too much for me to figure out. I visit many blog pages and this is not a problem.

robinAugust 20, 2010 - 1:59 pm

Thank you so much Marjorie for letting me know about this. I added a widget into my sidebar and forgot to resize it to fit. I use Safari as a browser and I have a big screen so even with the bigger widget my screen looks fine. I’m glad I have people like you watching out for me. I always appreciate being able to present a nice looking blog for everybody! Please, anybody out there, speak up if my blog looks funny. Different browsers will display things differently:)

This is weird. When I posted the comment about the page being chopped off, and then clicked back on the page , it correct4ed itself.

Marjorie JohnsonAugust 20, 2010 - 1:42 pm

A while back you blogged about problems with the print being chopped off on the right side of your blog page. Maybe it is my computer, but your page still has the prblem. Very annoying.
