Line Drawings 13, 14, and 15

#13… an experiment with font: #14… an exercise in stitch: #15 an idea for a new quilt: Last year… or was it the year before that… I experimented with shape.  I made quilts with strips, squares, rectangles, circles and triangles.  My favorite of all is perhaps a toss-up  between triangles and circles.  There is definitely...

What a beautiful baby. He will surely enjoy your gorgeous quilt!

simple contemplation

My son has taken up a new activity… mountain biking.  He and a group of friends have been spending hours riding their bikes in the woods, on trails, over pastureland, and one well-designed obstacle course specifically designed for this budding sport.  This holiday weekend, every day now, they have been going to the top of...

Amazing photos of a beautiful ride-for you. Glad you took time to enjoy.I am not sure you want to think about how fast they were going! You are a great photographer Robin.

Lovely. I’m so glad you found joy in the journey. (But seriously… that is a long drive.)

Your story reminds me of something I heard in a sermon long ago. “Spread the gospel. Use words only when neccessary.”

Indeed, you are so fortunate to be able to drive up a dormant volcano, stop to enjoy the stark beauty of the landscape and wonder at those plants able to survive there. Plus, you get to do it without a trans-Pacific flight and hotel accommodation required! Lucky.

Sometimes grumpiness just needs a bit of a kick before it gets out of the way. :-) I’m glad you found your kick. The photos are gorgeous! I also had to giggle at the thought of you coasting down the volcano on empty, avoiding the cows as you went. I am also seriously impressed with the kids’ rides!

Wednesday…

Line Drawing #11… how very tribal of me: Line Drawing #12… Tibet.  Someday I’ll be here… right here, only, maybe on a warm day. A painting by Susie Y. Anderson, such a delight. Finally, thanks to Rosa for including me in this etsy set.  Enjoy!

Line Drawings #5 to #10

I have been drawn to landscapes lately.  Much of my work with fabric is non-representational and I’m experiencing a shift within myself to create something which relates to the physical world.  These drawings are from photographs I’ve kept… this one, #5,  taken during my “telephone pole” stage: …#6, a view of an upcountry pasture: …...

Thanks for sharing the poem! I think she has a career in writing and maybe Mom could use the poem as inspiration for a quilt.

What a cute poem!

To me, there is something so elemental and peaceful about landscapes. I’m always drawn to them.

Thank you for this. It means a lot… to her, and subsequently, to me.

Tell Shelby her poem is fantastic! It makes me smile and cringe at teh same time!

Mod Blocks

I’m finally recovered from my weekend of events and happy to report both functions were hugely successful… at least, people seemed to have a wonderful time.  The branch chandeliers were a hit… as were the ornaments.  Thankfully, all were bid on.  I’m not sure of the numbers yet, but I’m sure we did well. With...
