Art Maui 2011

As an artist, and because my piece got accepted into this year’s Art Maui show, I had to sit at the gallery for a few hours the other day.  It was a nice morning, there are still many visitors that come to this space, and I was able to have several interesting conversations regarding art…...

Robin, Your piece looks wonderful! It is one of those I wish I would have made!

New Work!

Finished!  This is a little study I did while focusing on triangle.  I’m experimenting more with the quilting.  This little one measures 12″ x 12″. To give you a closer look at the quilting, I took close-up pictures and assembled them into a mosaic.  Without grout lines in between each square, the mosaic looks like...

I like the way you’ve extended the shapes with the quilting. Definitely a keeper of a quilting idea.

Wonderful design, color and quilting. I love your subtle choice of contrasting threads for quilting. And that mosaic of close-ups will certainly lead you to another quilt. Can’t wait to see it. You are an inspiration!

Aloha e Robin,
the triangle project is marvelous. I admire the part in you that is always reaching for something outside the box…or in this case…outside the triangle. I look at your site once a week (if I can find the few minutes) and each time I visit your site I am inspired to try something. At this stage it is all eye candy and someday I will get back to the machine. In the meantime, mahalo nui loa for your inspiration and sharing of your work. You are one of my favorite artists.

Fantastic! The quilting makes it, I think!

Love the quilting! Really, really neat!

Consider your experiment a success – I love the rouge parallelogram quilting line in the upper right – the single yellow line of stitching – pulls my eye there first, then wanders round the whole piece. Fun -

easing back into it…

Our house has returned to our usual school-year routine around here and I’m finding myself back in this space.  It’s a little strange being here again, so I’ve decided to finish off that little quilt I spoke of earlier.  I’m almost done and I’ll show you tomorrow!  Cheers!

Robin – love the quilting on this little piece!

{Right here… right now}

This has been a time of tremendous growth for our family.  We measured both of our sons and they each grew over an inch in the past two months!  I myself have embraced a new way of living… I’m eating much healthier, I’ve been drawn to meditation and yoga more, and my relationship with my...

I am so, so happy for you and your family. You don’t get to hear that too much with so much going on in our daily lives.

Studio Shots

Things are really quiet in the studio these days.  Our children are off from school for one more week so I’ve been busy with them.  It’s such a blessing to be able to spend these lazy days with them.  We wander from one thing to the next… no particular schedule… each day bringng something new....
