Monthly Archives: March 2011 A friend of mine, Miriam, has been letting herself go with oil painting! It’s great to see her branch out like this… with five children and a busy husband, it’s always nice to see here carve out a little something for herself. I had the opportunity to purchase her work a couple of weeks ago...

Hi Robin, I’m home again. Erica’s in treatment, things are calm, and I did in all 11 quilts & quilt tops while I was on Maui. Stripes were the exploration point. I think my next jumping off point might be shapes a la Pascal’s work at the Pa’ia Contemporary Gallery. Do you know Pascal’s work? Glad to hear you are trying some branching out. Shall I send some more eye candy? Daphne  We spent the weekend in Hana… one of Hawaii’s best kept secrets. It was the perfect way to launch our spring vacation; we spent time by the beach, we relaxed and we took walks around town… just to take it all in. The fresh air smell and cool ocean breeze was refreshing. The warm sun... by robin no comments  It’s not everyday one receives a handwritten letter from someone… let alone forty someones! That’s exactly what happened to me the other day! The children that I helped make quilts with all wrote me letters of thankfulness and gratitude which I’ve looked at often and am thankful to receive! I think the inspiration went both ways. What a talented bunch!  We are spending a few days by the shore. It’s wonderful to be here again where time slows and life becomes simpler. Evidence of the tsunami is all around, yet the spirit of this sleepy village remains undisturbed. Looking down at the ocean today, I see that the water continues to look messy and upset…... by robin no comments  Thank you folks for your concern… we are safe and sound here on Maui. Our house is well up the mountain so really we’ve been safe all along. Just the same, it’s nice that you would think of me on a day like this. I’m so very glad to hear that you are all OK – I kept visiting here of Friday for news but didn’t get on the PC yesterday unfortunately, I hope all your friends on the islands are OK too.

Thank you for letting us know you are ok. When I heard the news I thought of you and Kristin and hoped that all was well. Mother Nature is beautiful, but when she shows her might, it can get pretty darn scary.

I’m so glad to hear you and yours are safe and well. Even after seeing so many pictures, it is still hard for me to wrap my mind around that much water.
