Monthly Archives: November 2011 Thanksgiving weekend has for many years now been my favorite time of year. When else are we as a people focused on gathering and giving thanks? Somehow tho, between the food, celebrations, work in the ER and early Christmas shopping I’ve lost my center ever so slightly. Chaos creeps in; mindfulness evaporates. To my rescue...

That is a great quilt. Did you dye all the fabric?  On Friday, my “girls” Vanessa and Angie helped me make eight Macadamia Nut wreaths, a “Gilligan’s Isle” stand to put them on and a couple of branch trees to hang ornaments. Beautiful! Congratulations on what sounds like a magical night. Finally! I made this video about a month ago after listening to Tristan Prettyman’s song “Simple as It Should Be.” I’m happy to report that via her manager we worked out a little “deal” and now I’m able to use her song here. Just the music and inspiration I needed on a brilliantly sunny day in the great white north. After two days of grey and snow, thinking of you sewing in Hawaii and me sewing in northern Quebec makes me feel there is a symmetry somewhere in the world!

You could have a second career producing videos. It really conveys the beauty of not only the quilt, but the actual process, and of all we gather together in our daily lives to be surrounded by beautiful and inspirational things. The music was perfect. Thank you for sharing.

I’ve only seen the Haleakala hillside once in my life, but I remember it every bit as beautiful as your painting.  I took another trip up the mountain yesterday to pick greenery for the Pacific Cancer Foundation event which is scheduled for this Saturday.
