I’ve been consumed this week with the final stages of planning for a large event here on Maui. I’m the chair of the 8th annual “gala” fundraiser for the Pacific Cancer Foundation. Needless to say I’m not sleeping much. It’s all good though; I’m learning a lot and meeting many new people. I don’t have any pictures to show you yet, but I wanted to share with you a special touch we’ve added this year – just one of the many details I’ve been dealing with. It’s a napkin ring made printed on nice cardstock… a quote really from a soft-spoken cancer survivor that the PCF helped last year. I’m hoping to bring the message to our guests that what they do by supporting this event makes a difference. Often at this type of event, the actual purpose of all our slavery is overlooked and I wanted to reconnect our guests with at least one grateful patient.
