Aloha ‘Oe Quilt

I’m excited and a little embarrassed to tell you I finally finished the quilt I was working on for my son’s graduation … I’m calling it “Aloha ‘Oe.”  It’s such a lovely quilt despite it’s simple composition.  I chose the colors of his high school and used aloha shirts that belonged to his dad and grandpa, hand-dyed fabrics from my stash and a pocket from one of my scrubs!  In my mind while I made it, I imagined that he would get some sort of comfort out of having something from back home there in the dorm with him.  Surely if he ever did he would likely keep it to himself, but that’s ok. I know as all mom’s do, every child appreciates gifts, especially one that comes from the heart 🙂

No biggie on the delayed finish, considering it will be charished for a lifetime!

Never under estimate simple construction. Your composition is striking. He will love it!
