I did a few of those in my time with my classes.

One year the children cut symmetric butterflies out of paper and they spatter-painted them. The results were super etherial.

Another year they made paper cuts and we used them with a silk screen and got really nice sharp images.

The first year I tried it they did work with stampers. It was the least ‘coherent’ quilt for other reasons.

These beginnings look great.
