{returning}

It’s been quite a week for me!  Medically that is.  Let’s see we have one broken bone, one surgery, stitches, another doctor’s appointment, immunizations… a cold… not me, thankfully.  The good news is everybody should be just fine!  Now, with the kids fully back in school I have the house to myself and I can...

Love the blocks; I think they’ll make a fabulous bed quilt. But oh so sad to hear about broken bones and stitches. I’ve come off of two years of such things and I know how emotionally exhausting it can be. Hope everyone heals quickly and well.

Those Mondrian blocks are so stunning. They would make a lovely twin quilt!

Love the beatnik blocks!

Mid Century Update:

This month it’s Blair’s turn and wouldn’t you guess… more strips! How could she have known this would be right up my alley?  For inspiration she sent us pictures of tile-work done in a mid-century style… just the very thing I have in my own house! She also sent a delicious array of fabrics… tiffany...

You look great!

It is a never ending struggle to get that great photo, isn’t? I would like just one where my nose doesn’t look ridiculously large.

Great blocks! I’m hoping to catch up on mine by this time next week. So behind after the last few months of chaos.

You got the hair cut I’ve been trying to get my stylist to give me! How did you do it? I must print out this picture and take it to my next appointment. Fantastic.

Gray and yellow have been totally catching my eye lately. Lovely!

Hey there! Thanks again for my block, I love it!. You guys finishing these up so fast has gotten me completely inspired to get sewing for Spring, a happy side effect!

You look marvelous darhling! (best Billy Crystal impression). I love the new hair do and the blocks? Oh My! They are wonderful. Bleu is so adorable. Have a beautiful weekend.

Love both the blocks! The self portrait is great – with Bleu in the background looking like “she won’t let me be in the picture :(

I like your portrait — so sunny and youthful! The tile fabrics and block that you made are great. That’s going to be one fantastic quilt when Blair gets it all together. Love the general restfulness with just a touch of excitement. Mondrian’s Nephew seems to be coming along nicely too — can’t wait to see more blocks!

Mondrian’s Nephew was a Beatnik

You may already know that I belong to an online bee called the Mid Mod Quilt Bee.  Each month, a member posts instructions for a block, sends fabric and we are to create a block for them.  Last month was my month!  Inspired by the work of Mondrian, I provided each of our members with...

How I love Mondrian! and your interpretation of him is amazing!

Great work

A Week of New Projects… Mondrian’s Nephew

It’s my turn to host the Mid Mod Quilt Bee.  I’ve decided that since one of my favorite color-field artists is Mondrian, I’ll start with his work and launch from there.  I’ve assembled a group of shot cottons, which in this picture taken in the evening with poor lighting, are really more beautiful than they...

A Block for Rebekah

The only bee I participate in these days is the Mid Mod Quilt Bee, hosted by Rossie.  We are about half way through our year and the assignment for this month was given to us by Rebekah.  Our assignment was to focus on the mod shape of a rounded square within a rounded square… she...
