Category Archives: School of Fishies Finished! And just in the nick of time! Today is my daughter’s last day of school and next year she will be moving to another one. Looking back I realize we’ve been at that school for thirteen years, and of course my sentimental heart tells me it seemed like only yesterday that our journey began....

It turned out great. Her teacher will treasure it.  Here in this tropical state, we have had a few “winter weather advisories” these past few days… snow on the summits, rain and thunder… what’s that all about? It’s June outside but the clouds think its March. Looking at the news and I can see that all over the U.S. people are experiencing unusual weather... by robin 1 comment

I know I have been reading your blog for a long time, but it really hits home when I see a photo of your daughter! Wow, she has grown! Yes, the weather is wacky this year. By now the a/c has been turned on at least once, the shorts and tees are out. Yet, here I sit in wool socks and long sleeved shirt. Soon enough it will be warm and perhaps I will appreciate it even more. Have a wonderful weekend.  With the summer approaching and the days getting longer, we are slowly adjusting to a new routine. For my daughter it means trying out a new pattern she’s been wanting to try. A pair of shorts and a ruffled top from McCalls. For me it’s cooking adventures… indian dishes like this one and this one.... by robin no comments  I kept those stars… they compliment the “log-cabin kelp” down at the bottom… and yes, that’s kelp! Don’t worry that my fish have no eyes; I’m going to add them in the final stages. I’m imagining giant white eyes with black centers. I love your fishes, stars, & kelp. It is such a happy quilt and I know it will be loved. I just flipped through the new issue of Art Quilting Studio and guess whose smiling face looked back at me! Congratulations!

This is such a fun, happy quilt. I really like the way the red bounces around the kelp and then to the fish and into the stars and back around again.

Yeah for the stars. I love the gentle wave action, too. Then again, I love all your art, and your son’s, too.  First allow me to say from the bottom of my heart, thank you for all your nice comments on yesterday’s post. Having you guys chime in is icing on the cake! here in Queensland Australia we love our mangoes too. so juicy and sweet. THey are great to freeze too.
